Synopsis
For those applying for higher education or professional registration in an English-speaking country, the internationally-recognised IELTS Academic test is a must. IELTS is a task-based test that covers the four language skills:
- listening,
- reading,
- writing and
- speaking
This test would assess candidates on their readiness to begin studying or training in an English context. IELTS results are scaled on a 9-band scale with 1 being the lowest and 9 the highest. Institutions in most countries seek an IELTS score of 6 to 7.5.
